Meet the Founder

Our founder, Dr. Eric Opoku Agyemang, brings over 15 years of executive-level leadership experience, founding and managing international and Washington-based non-profit and for-profit organizations. He has a proven record of developing and leading robust organizations to advance social change through practical, strategic, adaptive, and innovative solutions.

In addition to his degrees in Business Administration and Management, he holds a Master’s in Social Work Policy and Administration and a PhD in Social Welfare and International Development Policy and Management from the University of Washington, Seattle. His professional expertise spans organizational and Leadership development, strategic planning, policy development and advocacy, and research.

As a former Co-Executive Director of Policy and Programs at Puget Sound Sage (PSS) and Sage Leaders, a Seattle-based non-profit organization that builds power to advance some of Seattle’s innovative and bold policies, Eric brings lots of expertise in policy design, advocacy, and strategic planning. PSS has led and built powerful coalitions and community power to advance bold policies, including the City of Seattle’s 15-dollar minimum wage, Equitable Development Initiative (EDI), JumpStart, and King County Social Housing. Additionally, Eric serves as Leadership Program Director at Sage Leaders, where he recruits and trains leaders from BIPOC and low-income communities to serve on strategic city, county, and statewide boards and commissions in King, Pierce, and Clark Counties and, currently expanding across the State of Washington to advance equity by influencing policies that impact their communities. His work in leadership development earned him honorable recognition for the 2024 Rothmans Structural Change Award, a national award for social workers seeking transformative structural change in society by changing policies and/or procedures to benefit those impacted by inequalities.

As a part-time Research Scientist at the Social Development Research Group, University of Washington, he combines innovative research, evaluation and policy, and adaptive leadership skills to advance his work both local and international. Dr. Agyemang believes that innovative research and evaluation that integrates diverse perspectives facilitates comprehensive insights that drive meaningful change and promote evidence-based decision-making and solutions to complex organizational and societal challenges. As a Fogarty International Research Fellow, his innovative research and community change projects across the globe have been funded by the United States National Institute of Health (NIH).

Serving as an executive director of the Cheerful Hearts Foundation, Founder & National Coordinator of Patriots Ghana, and an Obama fellow, Eric has served on numerous non-profit boards and worked with various organizations and leaders from all over the world. Consequently, he has strong facilitation skills, builds relationships easily, and is very confident working with all types of people, irrespective of age, gender, political and religious affiliation, etc. His work has been presented at the United Nations and featured on various international media, including BBC, Al Jazeera, The Guardian, and Al Pais.

In addition to consulting for various international organizations, he has consulted for organizations across the state of Washington, including Southwest Washington Accountable Community of Health (SWACH) and Council for The Homeless (CFTH), Vancouver Washington. He has also coached various small to medium-scale startup businesses in developing business models and plans to facilitate strategic business growth.
